Darwin Correspondence Project

From William Whewell   11 April 1839

My dear Darwin

I want to be allowed to present the accompanying little book1 as a marriage gift to you and MrsDarwin. It is a very humble gift, to be sure but it may serve to remind you of my good wishes which are very cordially yours. Moreover if you can accommodate yourself to the canter of the verses, you will find in it a very pretty love story.

Believe me always | Very truly yours | W Whewell Trin. Col.

Ap. 11. 1839
