My dear Sir

I am extremely much obliged for your very kind present of your really beautiful work on the British Land mollusks.2 I am extremely glad to posses a copy & wish my knowledge rendered me more worthy of its possession.—

I shall take an early opportunity of carefully looking through it, for but lately I was wishing for information on two or three little points.—

With my best thanks | Pray believe me | Yours very faithfully | Charles Darwin
