The Council, at its Quarterly Meeting on 12 January 1837, resolved: ‘that M^r Darwin’s Donations to the Museum be accepted upon the conditions annexed thereto: and that accordingly the Board of Curators be authorized and requested to direct the provision of the necessary number of Casts by M^r Jones, Modeller to Sir Francis Chantry’ (RCS Council minutes). The cost of preparation of the casts for distribution is recorded as £60 (minutes of the Board of Curators, January 1837).
