To James Egan   25 November [1858]

Down Bromley Kent

Nov. 25th

Dear Sir

I am extremely much obliged to you for so promptly & very kindly making enquiries about striped Horses.1 Should you hear anything further, more especially in regard to the Foal, perhaps you will have the great kindness to communicate with me.—

Immediately on receipt of your letter I wrote to Dr. Lindley & this morning I have received his answer.2 He says he shd. be very glad to hear occasionally from you on Hungarian Horticultural matters. He adds that he should like to hear something about the climate which produces the Tokay wine & fine Hungarian tobacco.—

With my best thanks for your kindness, I remain Dear Sir | Your obliged servant | Charles Darwin
