To J. S. Henslow   9 November [1858]

Down Bromley Kent

Nov. 9th

My dear Henslow

We shall be truly delighted to see you here on the 25th.—1 If you will send me one line to say by what hour you will be at Croydon, in all probability I shall be able to send to meet you with my phaeton.— If you go to London from Sir B. then come to Beckenham either by the Pimlico or London Bridge line.— I fear I have not strength to meet you at C. Palace.—

My dear Henslow | Yours most truly | C. Darwin

Footnotes

Henslow had intended to visit Down in August 1858, but the visit had to be postponed (see letter to J. S. Henslow, 4 August [1858]).
