To John William Lubbock 6 September
Dear Sir John
I am much obliged to you for informing me about the school, of which I had heard nothing for a long time.— I shall be extremely glad to attend the Vestry, & give the scheme my cordial support in that, and in any other way.— I have always heard that the late Sir John Lubbock was much interested in schools; & I do not think a more noble memorial could possibly be made to anyone, than by a school for the poor.1
Pray believe me | Yours sincerely | Charles Darwin Sir J. W. Lubbock Bart.
Will give his support to a school for the poor to be a memorial to the late Sir John Lubbock.
