Darwin Correspondence Project

To J. J. S. Steenstrup   4 November [1851]

Down Farnborough Kent

Novr 4th.—

My dear Sir

In a former letter, I ventured to ask you to inform me of the reference to publication in which Xenobalanus globicipitis has appeared.1 If you will take the trouble to answer me this question, you will much add to the kindness which you formerly showed me, & for which I shall ever feel much obliged.

With much respect | Your obliged servant | C. Darwin

CD was in the final stages of proof-reading Living Cirripedia (1851) (‘Journal’; Correspondence vol. 5, Appendix I) and wanted the reference for the corrigenda and addenda to the volume. See letter to J. J. S. Steenstrup, 16 October [1851], nn. 3, 4.

Asks for reference to publication about Xenobalanus.
