To John Higgins 6 December
Down Farnborough | Kent
My dear Sir
I beg to thank you for your note informing me that you have placed to my account at Robart £197..—
Although you do not allude to the great loss we have experienced in the death of my Father, I am well assured, from what I have heard you say, that you will sympathise with us. A man with more entire kindness of heart could not, I am certain, exist. He always expressed much respect & interest for you.—
I believe Mr Salt1 wrote to you about Rents &c up to the day of the death; but I do not whether he communicated to me that Sutterton Fen is left to me,2 so that I shall receive all rent due after Nov. 13th ult.—
Believe me | My dear Sir | Yours very faithfully | C. R Darwin. To | J. Higgins Esqr
