My dear Sir

I beg to thank you for your letter of the 8th, informing me that you would pay £198 ’ 12 . 3 to my account at Mr Robarts & enclosing your account.—1 I am very glad to hear that all is going on prosperously; but I am sorry for the poor old man’s death.

Rent for the Beesby Farm. According to his Account Book (Down House MS), CD received £203 12s. 3d. in rent, minus a £5 subscription to Beesby School.
