I could not answer your kind note at once, my plans being very undecided.1

If however it would suit you I should much like to dine with you on Sunday.2

Will you kindly send me a line to Chiselhurst.3

Emma Darwin recorded in her diary (DAR 242) that John Lubbock dined at Down House on Sunday 22 February 1863.
Lubbock resided in Chislehurst, Kent, a village about five miles north of Down.
