- f1 662a.f1George Suttor had emigrated to Australia in 1799 with the intention of cultivating orchard trees andvines. In 1839 he visited England and was elected a fellow of the Linnean Society.
- f2 662a.f2None of Suttor's work was published in the Journal of the Royal Geographical Society. In 1843, however, he issued a book on the cultivation of the vine in Australia and New Zealand.
