Darwin, C. R. to Darwin, Emma

[21 Apr 1851]

    Summary Add

  • +

An evening report on Annie Darwin's somewhat improved condition.

Monday | 7o 30' P.M.

Fanny gave her a spoonful of tea a little while ago, & asked her whether it was good & she cried out quite audibly “it is beautifully good.”— She asked, so says Brodie, “where is poor Etty?”.—

The Dr has been here everything going on as favourably as possible: but we must have the surgeon this evening again, I am sorry to say.—

She has slept most tranquilly almost all afternoon, perhaps too tranquilly— We have bathed her again with vinegar.—
