Darwin Correspondence Project

To Edward Wilson   20 February [1868]1

Down. | Bromley. | Kent. S.E.

Feb 20

Dear Mr Wilson

Many thanks for yr note.2 I recd a letter the other day from Dr Müller on the same subject, & from his kindness & yours, I shall receive more answer from Australia than from any other quarter of the world.3 This is a great piece of good fortune, as the Australians are I suppose nearly the most distinct of all races. This reminds me to ask you whether you happen to possess any moderately large photographs of Australians; In this case if you wd lend them to me for a day or 2 I wd send for them. I have a considerable collection, but it contains no Australian & I should like to compare them.4

Pray believe me | yours very faithfully | Ch. Darwin
