Darwin Correspondence Project

To Hermann Müller   29 March [1867]1

Down, Bromley, Kent

Mar: 29.

Dear Sir

Your letter has been a great pleasure to me.2 To believe that I have interested and in any degree aided an energetic and skilful naturalist like yourself is in truth the highest reward possible to me.—

—I sent you a few days ago a paper on climbing plants by your brother, and I then knew for the first time that Fritz Müller was your brother.3 I feel the greatest respect for him as one of the most able naturalists living, and he has aided me in many ways with extraordinary kindess.—

Yours very faithfully | Ch. Darwin
