CD had requested seed of Aegilops ovata (a synonym of A. geniculata, ovate goatgrass) in his letter to A. S. Wilson, 23 February 1878. CD was in London from 27 February to 5 March 1878 for reasons of poor health (CD’s ‘Journal’ (Appendix II)).
